Three accounts of stranded humpback whales have been reported in recent weeks from South East Scotland. The first was a report of dead humpback whale seen offshore, 13 miles east of Carnoustie, on the 21st of February. The next day a humpback whale was washed up at Arbroath, entangled in netting. It is unclear whether these two were the same whale. Then on the 3rd of March a humpback whale was found in Castlesea Bay, Windyhills.
