Urgent Call for Support: Christmas Challenge – 2nd to 9th December

Double your impact by donating Today!

We are raising funds for a public education programme to raise much-needed awareness and understanding of marine mammals by:

  • Significantly boosting engagement with our open-source online map viewer.
  • Massively increasing downloads of the Sea Watcher app and submission of data to our database and map viewer through this.
  • Installing educational panels at whale and dolphin watching hotspots around the Anglesey coast.

We have the chance to double every donation made by the public from the 2nd to the 9th of December through the Big Give Foundation’s Christmas Appeal. A massive thank you to our match funders Plan Aid and Sea Watch supporter Mrs Rajkumari Jones who have both pledged £10,000 towards this campaign.

Visit our campaign page to find out more: https://donate.biggive.org/campaign/a05WS000006mWYQYA2

We want to reach out to as many people as possible with live sightings that they could see from the coasts. This will encourage more members of the public to become citizen scientists and contribute to our ever-growing database of sightings, thus contributing directly to our knowledge and helping us provide the necessary evidence-based advice for their protection and conservation.

Want to help further? Nominate us for the Supporters’ Choice Award!

This initiative is designed to boost supporter engagement during the campaign week and give your charity the chance to win an extra £1,000 once the Challenge concludes. It’s simple to enter – here’s how it works:

  • Entries open Friday 5th December and close Tuesday 9th December (midday).
  • How supporters can enter:
    • Post on X, BlueSky or Instagram
    • Include both hashtags: #BigGiveChoice and #ChristmasChallenge
    • Tag: Big Give and Sea Watch Foundation
    • Share why your charity deserves to win the Supporters’ Choice Award.

2026 Internship Applications Are Now Open!

It’s that time of year again when we are looking for individuals to join our team at Sea Watch Foundation!
