Join our NWDW Beach Clean

Adopt a Dolphin, Paragon House, Wellington Place, New Quay Sea Watch Foundation, New Quay, Ceredigion

Sea Watch Foundation's team of dedicated interns do a beach clean every Wednesday afternoon on both Dolau and Harbour Beaches in New Quay, West Wales.

Please join us at 3.30PM for our extra special National Whale and Dolphin Watch Beach Clean and help us to minimise the amount of human rubbish and non-biodegradable waste entering the beautiful coastal waters of Cardigan Bay!

You can help us for as long or as short a time as you wish, and dog attendance is very welcome...we even have home-baked dolphin-shaped dog biscuits to keep up your canine assistants' energy levels.

Rubbish bag, gloves, litter pickers and hand sanitiser will be provided, along with a safety briefing and the opportunity to chat to our interns about the work Sea Watch Foundation does in New Quay, Cardigan Bay and beyond...

Rockpool Safari

Adopt a Dolphin, Paragon House, Wellington Place, New Quay Sea Watch Foundation, New Quay, Ceredigion

Help us explore the rockpools and tidelines of New Quay's dog-friendly beach and lets see what interesting animals, seaweeds and objects we can find!

Please meet us at the Dolphin Hub in the carpark above Dolau Beach, or come and find us on the beach itself for some low tide exploration of the pools. We will be on the beach between 3 and 5 pm, so look out for Percy, our life-sized Harbour Porpoise model who is made of upcycled marine rubbish. He will mark the meeting point for our salty adventures…

Please see the upcoming events or visit https://www.seawatchfoundation.org.uk/nwdw-2021-on-site-and-online-events/ for an overview of all the NWDW education and outreach events happening in New Quay and Online.

Orca Watch 2023 (Save the Date)

John O'Groats John O' Groats, Caithness

All being well, we'll be back up at John O'Groats for Orca Watch. With the help of volunteers, we aim to collect as much data as possible on the whales, dolphins and porpoises in the waters around Caithness and North Sutherland, Orkney and Shetland, over a ten-day period. To find out more, and how to apply as an Orca Watch Volunteer Observer, go to this link or look for Orca Watch under the Get Involved menu.  Please note: these are preliminary dates and are subject to change.
