We are pleased for our field base to be located in the picturesque seaside town of New Quay in West Wales with its golden sandy beaches and sheltered harbour. There are plenty of opportunities to spot the resident population of dolphins in Cardigan Bay – even from our Centre’s front bay window! If you’re in the area, please don’t hesitate to visit us to find out about the local dolphins and our work to protect the marine life in British and Irish waters. Our staff and interns are on hand to answer questions, advise on the best wildlife-spotting locations, and teach you about the importance of marine conservation. Don’t forget to ask about recent sightings and upcoming events too.
Want to find out more about our work and marine conservation? Take a visit to our Education Hub at the Visitor Centre! We have various resources and activities available for all ages and our team are on hand to answer any questions. The Hub allows us flexibility to host large groups in New Quay including school, university and community visits. We also deliver training courses to give an overview of cetacean biology and ecology, conservation issues facing UK cetaceans, species identification, and recommended survey methods for monitoring. These courses provide an unparalleled opportunity to see marine mammals in the wild and to contribute to cetacean conservation in Britain. We deliver this course in our Education Hub in New Quay.
